Overview of the Labs

Investigating risk

Risk and risk-management has been identified as a key innovation skill with more innovative individuals more prepared to take more calculated risks. This session is therefore designed to make participants think about their own attitude to risk and think about how they think this affects their career.

This being said, the workshop should have a fairly neutral attitude to risk per se and should try not to be seen as ‘encouraging’ participants to take risks but more it should ask them to examine themselves and their own attitudes.

This session aims to help participants to:

  • examine their own attitude to risk
  • compare and contrast this with others in the group
  • challenge their own assumptions about risk taking

The first part is a reflective and discursive activity with the second part being a more active, creative and challenging session.

Please read the downloadable session description in more detail and follow the PowerPoint slides for the overall session plan.
